The Manor
Hall Place
Within the walls of this Manor House, there dwells three ghosts. The White Lady of the Tower is that of a young woman who was watching her husband, Thomas Athall, a medieval owner of the estate who was hunting a stag. Having cornered the beast, it turned on him and gored him to death. His wife fell into a deep faint from which she never recovered and is seen wandering about near the chequered and battlemented tower that stands in the middle of the West wing of the house. The shadow of the Black Prince also appears to fortell disaster, either to those living here at the time of the sighting, or the nation. He is said to have courted his wife, Joan, "The Fair Maid of Kent" here and is quite unmistakeable, being clad in the shiny black armour for which he was famous. He lived in the manor before embarking for Crecy. Also haunting the attics, is a servant girl who is constantly seeking a lost child. If ye looks closely, ye may see the faint whisps of these inhabitants.
